Dania Gerhardt
Success breeds success, but failure does not need to produce more failure. In fact, when carefully examined, failures provide valuable lessons that can be applied when taking a second run at something and help ensure a successful outcome. Dania Gerhardt originally had a grand vision for her start-up, Amazee. It was to become a social platform with millions of users. She and her team shared a great amount of enthusiasm and believed in the world-changing idea behind the company until its near death experience a few difficult years later. Luckily, a B2B solution came their way and, admitting that the company would work better as a web development agency, they rebranded and Amazee Labs was born. Ms Gerhardt’s talk takes a close and personal look at her experiences with failure, and she asks many pertinent questions as well: What went wrong? Were we the right team? Why are we successful now? Discovering that the core strength of the team – “being nice” – now means something, since they are in the service industry is a special and inspiring insight.
