South Tyrol’s NOI Technology Park opens its doors to innovative companies. 60 start-ups and technology companies have already found a place in the NOI Techpark, including key names such as Huawei, Maccaferri and Leitner.

At ETH Zurich in Zurich, the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Switzerland   and IDM Südtirol are presenting the high-tech investment platform and explaining the opportunities for Swiss companies. “Where industry and research work closely together, that’s when innovation comes about” .

With this motto, South Tyrol is becoming an attractive hub for young talents, dynamic start-up and innovative entrepreneurs looking to the south and wanting to conquer new markets in a geographically close, bilingual region.

IDM is pursuing the aim of raising the level of innovation in South Tyrol, in particular in small and medium enterprises. To this end, IDM sees itself as the centre and driving force for innovation, cooperation and technology transfer for all actors, with special emphasis on businesses, within the South Tyrol innovation system.
IDM offers innovation services and fosters cooperation to bring science and industry together. Knowledge transfer and cooperation is made possible in the so-called ecosystems and start-ups are given important assistance to help them on their way in our business incubator. The ‘Get Innovative’ department supports South Tyrol businesses with an interdisciplinary team of experts including engineers, physicists, dieticians, architects and ICT specialists. Firms are supported in the introduction of new products, services, processes and business models.

Innovation aims are:

  • Promoting product innovation
  • Raising the productivity and competitiveness of South Tyrol enterprises
  • Promoting process innovation (Industry 4.0)
  • Increasing cooperation between firms and research partners.

Focus sectors

IDM ecosystems are strategic and operative networks of established firms, start-ups, investors, universities and research and development establishments.
The aim is to use these ecosystems in South Tyrol’s areas of strength (Alpine technologies, green technologies, automotive, food technologies and ICT & Automation) to increase the innovation competencies of businesses, to initiate projects and to promote a culture of cooperative innovation. In this way, knowledge and technology transfer can be guaranteed.
